How to select tubes?

1. Hardness: Tubes are required to be soften than the fittings. For tubes and fittings made of the same material, the metal tubes shall be fully annealed for easy bending and flaring.
2. Surface: It's hard to seal if there are any scratches or defects on the surface of tube, particularly for gas system.
3. Roundness: Force inserting an elliptical or non-circular tube into the fittings may damage the sealing function of nut, ferrules and the body.
4. Tube thickness: Table below contains tube thickness and relevant range of working pressure. When ferrules are griping, too thin a tube wall tends to sag and deform and this is not the case for tubes of thicker wall.

DO NOT use tubes with wall thickness not available in the below table.

Tube Fittings Under 1" & 25mm

These instructions are suitable for any types of fittings.
First, insert the tube completely into the fitting body and finger-tighten the nut.
Then, make the nut at the 9’ o’clock position.
Finally, while holding the fitting body steady, wrench the nut 1-1/4 turns to the 12 o’clock position.
For sizes 1/8”, 3/16” and 4mm, wrench the nut only 3/4 turn to the 6 o’clock position.

Metal Sealing

Compression Fittings employ metal sealing mechanism and are exclusive for metric tube; they come in series of “L” and “S” (for light-duty and heavy-duty respectively); see table below for their selection.

How to install Rapid Pneumatic Fittings

Firstly, make sure the soft tube to connect tightly the flange design of the fitting.
Then screw the nut tightly.
Above two steps prevent tube falling off easily.

The fittings of JIC, JIS, and BS5200 specifications have external or internal tapered design. JIC (Joint Industry Council) specification was introduced by SAEJ514 / ISO 8434-2 standards. The female and male threads on 37° Flare seat are all produced in accordance to UN/UNF series threads. JIC 37° Flare seat of hydraulic fittings normally used in United States markets. JIS specification is defined by Japanese Industrial Standards. Threads on JIS B8363 30° Flare hydraulic fittings, are manufactured according to the standard BSPP(PF/G). JIC and JIS fittings are not interchangeable as they are aimed for two different tubing connection systems.

Excellent air tightness

When it’s in high vibration, low pressure systems or applying low density fluids, hydraulic fitting body and nut with excessive tightened or repeated use will cause a slight leak which can be prevented with O-ring design. In addition, the characteristics of stainless steel can reduce the replacement of fittings due to corrosion by fluids and also the leakage problem during construction in key installation area; both may greatly cut maintenance costs and machine shutdown time.
